Welcome to our window cleaning service. Below we describe how we aim to provide you with the best possible service, that you could expect from a WINDOW cleaner. Please take some time to read this, as it provides a total insight, on how we have moved from the old way of window cleaning, with bucket and leather, to the new high tech process.

Polefed have been using the van mounted reach and wash system since 1999, one of the first companies to put this system to use. This method of window cleaning is all done from the ground by use of extendable poles with a brush at one end. Pure water is pumped from our holding tank on the van, to the top of the pole and then through the brush head. Quite simply the window or area to be cleaned is scrubbed, and then washed off. It’s as simple as that. The glass does not need drying off with a squeegee as with old cleaning methods as it is left to dry naturally, allowing it to dry clean.

How does it dry clean? Let us briefly explain.

When pure water is used for window cleaning the impurities on the glass are dislodged, put into a solution and held in the water, as the pure water strives to return to its impure state it gathers and holds the dirt. When the glass is then given a final rinse with the water fed poles, the water washes this off and leaves the glass clean and free from smears, with no dirt left remaining, thus drying to a clear finish.

Pure water leaves your window clean and smear free. To give you a guide, we tested bottled drinking water from the supermarket; this gave a reading of 264ppm (Parts per million), on the TDS meter (Total Dissolved Solids). Tap water on that day was 374ppm. The levels for drinking water are 500ppm maximum. Our window cleaning system produces a high level of pure water: from 1 to 30 ppm, after passing through our 5 stage reverse filtration system. With pure water, your windows dry spotless without the need of wiping off. With no detergent residue, this means your windows do not get dirty so quickly, windows stay cleaner...longer.

Another advantage to this method is that while the glass is being cleaned, so are the frames, giving the whole window a better finish, giving excellent results, even on a typically English light rainy day.

Health and safety issues are reduced using this method as well, with operators’ feet firmly on the ground. How many times have you seen somebody working off, or running up and down a ladder in all weathers, with no-one holding the ladder, or leaning across to extend their reach? Hasn’t it made you think, "There’s an accident waiting to happen?" Our reach and wash system takes away that risk.

The system is also great for reaching windows, which before may have been inaccessible, or dangerous. It’s fantastic for reaching over obstacles such as parked vehicles, fences or borders, flower beds and pitched roofs to name but a few. Also delicate masonry suffer little disturbance using this method.
